Our holistic ‘SPICES’ programme emphasises on the total development of the child with activities focused on the Social, Physical, Intellectual, Creative, Emotional and Spiritual (moral) aspects of well being. In addition to supervised homework and assessment work, our curriculum includes character building, phonics and reading, journaling and creative activities.
Our character building curriculum are adapted from the “Character First Education” programme, an established programme in US and the lessons are taught through stories, games and situational learning. Examples of character qualities taught are: attentiveness, obedience, truthfulness.
Phonics course is being offered to Primary One students at our Centres as we believe that learning phonics will help the child learn to read and spell. We are very privileged to have experienced teachers from Lorna Whiston to develop the lessons for our teachers who have been trained by Lorna Whiston.
Journaling: Time is set aside for our students on a weekly basis to journal to encourage them to reflect and express their thoughts. This activity would also develop their writing skills. Through the journaling, teachers also have a better understanding of their students.
Creative Activities: Students are encouraged to express themselves through creative activities such as Art & Craft, singing, cooking, drama and dance.
Tuition is offered as a paid option. However, students who are academically weak and could not afford the tuition fees are either subsidised or provided free tuition from our benevolent fund.
Our holiday programme includes theme based project work and educational field trips.
